Project Description: The One Step Malaria (P.flp.v) Tri-line Test is a new rapid test for the detection of malaria parasites antigens. The One-Step Malaria (P.flp.v) Tri-line is a colloidal gold enhanced two-site sandwich immunoassay utilizing whole blood for the detection of P.falciparum specific histidine-rich protein-II (P.f hrp-ii) and P.vivax malaria-specific pLDH. The One Step Malaria (P.flp.v) Tri-line Test is a new rapid test for the detection of malaria parasites antigens. The One-Step Malaria (P.flp.v) Tri-line is a colloidal gold enhanced two-site sandwich immunoassay utilizing whole blood for the detection of P.falciparum specific histidine-rich protein-II (P.f hrp-ii) and P.vivax malaria-specific pLDH. As with other malaria tests, the results should be considered in conjunction with the patient's clinical history or symptoms. While there are several Malaria RDT's on the market currently, prequalification evaluation of the new malaria rapid test is merited. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the One Step Malaria (P.flp.v) Tri-line Rapid Diagnostic Test. The project will be conducted in Tanzania Bagamoyo and Ethiopia.
